the 3/50 project
What’s an independent? According to the 3/50 project, it’s “someone who sleeps little, eats on the run, balances their checkbook over the breakfast table, combs through order forms in bed at night, and is capable of sorting invoices, signing paychecks, fielding questions, responding to emails, and faxing confirmations while simultaneously explaining to a new employee how to check in UPS.”
The goal of the 3/50 project is to “save the brick and mortars our nation [USA] is built on” by reminding your customers that it’s their purchases that keep you in business. Without them your business would disappear, as well as the jobs you’ve created in the community. The 3/50 project asks supporters to commit to spending $50 per month at three local stores of their choice. It’s such a simple concept, but look how powerful it could be:

Visit the 3/50 project site and add your business to the list of supporters. Print out flyers, display a countertop sign, order a window cling. Spread the word to other local businesses and tell your local newspaper.
Remember, it only takes 1 person to start a trend!
